Phil Luck is a highly skilled artist, who specializes in traditional tattoos. He has over 25 

years of experience, and began his career during a historical time in New York City, in the early 90's.

Born in Brooklyn while tattooing was illegal in his city, there were only 12 recognized tattoo 

artists in this city of eight million people, and you could only make a name for yourself if 

you were willing to work to be the best. Since there was only one thing that he ever 

wanted to do, he dedicated his life to tattooing, honed his specialty and brought 

traditional tattoos back, during a time when people were getting tribal arm bands. 

Phil recognized the difference between trends, and sustainable art. The artistic and 

individual expression in tattooing was something he took very seriously. Phil provided 

extensive consultations, to build a relationship with his clients. Then he would draw it 

out, and create the tattoo that was exactly what was wanted. Phil became the most sought 

after tattooist, for traditional tattoos, and graced the covers of every tattoo magazine of 

the time.
